About Abbeymead Dental Centre & Our Practice
Our intention is to provide quality, affordable dental care in a progressive environment, with a motivated, friendly, forward-thinking team.
At the Abbeymead Dental Centre we aim to ensure that all our patients are able to make informed choices about their dental care, and, whichever option they choose, whether NHS, Private or our various Plan options, are given the best General Dental care available. If appropriate, these services are backed up by our in-house Specialist and Special Interest Practitioners at Abbey Referrals.
What we do
- Cosmetic Dentistry – including veneers, crowns, bridges, implants, tooth-coloured fillings and tooth whitening.
- Daily Hygiene services – professionally cleaning and polishing your teeth by removing plaque and tartar. In addition our hygienists offer Air-flow stain removal treatment.
- Orthodontics – correcting irregularities of the teeth, bite and jaw.
- Specialist Oral Surgery – facilities including wisdom teeth removal.
- Periodontics – the treatment and management of gum conditions and recession.
- Implants – an option for people that have lost a tooth or teeth.
- Root Canal Treatment – with our Specialist Endodontist.
1 Registration
We are currently taking on Private and Plan patients. Please be aware that certain dentists and time slots are reserved for Private and Plan patients only. The Abbeymead Dental Care Plan is a membership agreement to reward and look after our patients who visit the practice regularly.
2. Patient Confidence
Here at the Abbeymead, we adhere to a strict practice-based quality assurance system based on the principles of infection control, health and safety, radiation protection. We have a compliance system in place to ensure that we keep our team and patients safe. We have made an ongoing commitment to working to the standards of good practice and legal responsibilities.
3. Multi Lingual Team
Our team are not only great at dentistry lots of them are multi-lingual. Spoken at this practice is: Spanish, Hindu, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Afrikaans, Cantonese and Mandarin, Polish, Lithuania, Romanian, Italian, Swedish, Greek and German.
4. Keep Us up To Date
In order to ensure we can best help you, we may ask you about any medication you are taking. Please make a note of their names and tell us about them when you attend. If you change your name, address or mobile number please also let us know. At each visit we will verbal ask you to confirm any medical changes and annually we will send you a link to update your Medical details in a short questionnaire. If you cannot fill out the forms online, make sure you attend your appointment 10minutes early and we can provide you with paper forms.
5. Patient Feedback
We think that your feedback is really important to us. After you finish treatment you may be sent a feedback form to let us know what you liked and where we can improve. If you were unhappy with any aspect of care you have received at the Abbeymead Dental Centre, please contact Matthew or Nina who will be happy to guide you to our complaints Policy.

Created in 2009 on the first floor of the building, Abbey Referrals offers the services of a team of Specialist and special interest dentists.

Dr BRIDGIT WIGG
Dentist
Dr Wigg qualified in 1997 at Guys Dental Hospital, London. Worked in hospital for a year where she gained experience in many disciplines before starting to work in General Practice.
Dr VANESSA FRYER
Dentist
Dr Fryer qualified at the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2001. She worked in South Africa for 3 years after she qualified. In 2004 she moved to the UK and practiced in London.
Dr SUM CHAN
Dentist
Dr Chan qualified from King’s College London in 2000. She started her career as a general dental practitioner in York. Since 2002 she has been practising in Essex for 10 years.

Dr. Farheen Salman (B.D.S) qualified from Rajiv Ghandi University Of Health Sciences, from Bangalore, India, followed by Overseas Registration Examination (O.R.E) here in U.K
DR THOMAS NORLIN
Dentist with special interest
Dr. Norlin qualified from the Karolinska Institute, Dental School, Stockholm in 1998, where he achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He is committed to further education.
DR MICHAEL GOLDSMITH
Specialist Endodontist
Michael is a Specialist Endodontist since 2000. He qualified from Bristol University in 1989, working in general practice and hospital posts. He gained his MSc with distinction.
Dr George Xirogiannis
Specialist Periodontist
George Xirogiannis is a dedicated Specialist Periodontist. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from the University of Athens in 2003. He accepts referrals for Periodontics and Dental Implants
Dr Nishanthi Kangesu
Specialist Orthodontist
Nishanthi qualified as a dentist from Guy’s and St. Thomas’s hospital in 1992. Specialties include Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics
