This September the Abbeymead Team took part in the annual 10km Mouth Cancer Foundation Walk in Hyde Park. Before the walk started the Mouth Cancer Foundation President Krishan Joshi reminded us that this is the only walk specifically for Mouth Cancer in the world. As we all gathered to warm up in Hyde Park we heard from Consultant Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons who reminded us of the key signs and symptoms. There was a roll call of friends and family who had all lost their lives to mouth cancer, a reminder of why we must share and support the message that a 2-minute self-check can save lives. As a reminder to all of our patients at the Abbeymead Dental Centre, we routinely screen you for mouth cancer at every check-up and all of our dentists are trained in Mouth Cancer screening.
Thank you to Matthew, Tina, Runjie and Nina for all taking part in this charitable event. Other Abbeymead Team Members are due to complete their walks from home over the next few months. We await to hear how they get on.
