November 2021: We walked 120km in November and raised money to support the Mouth Cancer Foundation!
This month our Abbeymead team walked an amazing 120km between them. 10km walks took place in Virginia Water, Bushy Park, Addlestone and Godalming. Between us, we raised £200. Thank you to all of our patients and supporters! Our aim is to raise awareness of Mouth Cancer and encourage more people to perform a self-check.
Here’s why Abbeymead stepped out against Mouth Cancer: Over 2700 lives are lost to mouth cancer each year. There are over 8722 new cases of mouth cancer in the UK each year. Mouth cancer causes more deaths in the UK than road traffic accidents. The majority of these deaths happen because of low detection and low public awareness of the signs symptoms and risks. We want to change that! By supporting the @mouthcancer @justgiving page you will help the charity improve the lives of patients, carers and survivors. The charity works to increase awareness and educate more people on head and neck cancer.
